Nelson "Jimmy" James Fruge passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at the age of 76. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 22, 2023 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Danny Ortego officiating. Cremation will follow. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 10:30 AM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 21, 2023. There will be a prayer service conducted by Brother Bert Langley Thursday at 6:00 PM. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Friday until time of Services. "Jimmy" is survived by his wife, Joella Talbott Fruge; one daughter, Connie Landreneau; seven grandchildren, Lance Landreneau (Ashley), Jacob Landreneau (Jieun), Victor Landreneau (Nicky), Ashlyn Vallot (Dusty), Kelli Arceneaux (Dwight), Kelly Breaux (Ryan), Kimberly Smith (Ed); eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Edna Courville Fruge; three brothers, Johnny Fruge, Clifford Fruge, Joe Fruge; one sister, Waver "Sis" Cain and one grandchild, Hannah Landreneau.
