Nela Soileau Richard passed away at Eunice Manor on Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the age of 91. Nela donated her body to science. Nela was married for 76 years to her late husband, Gussie Richard. She enjoyed traveling in their motor home and camping at different campsites when not attending to her garden or cooking big meals for family at the holidays. She will be missed by two sons, Charles Richard and wife Cathy, Daniel Richard and partner Faye; two daughters, Sandra Lavergne and husband Easton, Joannie Arbour; one brother, Floyd Soileau, eight grandchildren, Tonya Lavergne, Carla Granberry and husband Matt, Natalie Lively and husband Jeremy, Dex Richard and wife Kristin, Daniel Arbour, Corey Richard, Ryan Arbour and wife Cassie, Michelle Arbour and partner, Rhett; eleven great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Kirt Soileau; two grandsons, Philip Lavergne and Chad Lavergene.
