Mrs. Myrtis Hoychick, age 85, passed away on Monday, September 27, 2010.

A visitation wil begin on Monday at the First Baptist Church in Basile beginning at 5 PM to 9 PM. The church will reopen at 10 AM on Tuesday for visitation. The funeral service will be on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at 11 AM at the First Baptist Church in Basile with burial to follow at the Protestant Cemetery in Basile. Pastor Dwayne Smith will officiate. Mrs. Myrtis is survived by her three sons, John Hoychick, Jr.,esq. and his wife Susan of Rayville, LA, Rev. Darryl Hoychick and his wife Gilda of Deville, LA and Terry Hoychick,esq. and his fiance' Angie Reviere of Eunice, LA; two brothers, Nathan Miller and his wife Mae of Basile, LA and Huey Miller, Sr. and his wife Mary Annof Lafayette, LA. 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Her 8 grandsons will be the pall bearers, John B, Danny, Tim & Jason Hoychick, Brent Romero, Mark Williams, Peter Rousse & Seth Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Hoychick, Sr.; parents, Leopold Miller and Pauline Bellon Miller. Mrs. Myrtis was the owner of Lynn's Fabric Shop in Basile.
