Murphy "Slug" Michael LaFleur, Sr. passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 78. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Sal Istre celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM on Friday, June 18, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with a Rosary at 6:00 PM by Deacon Gary Gaudin. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday until time of Services. "Slug" is survived by his wife, Rosemary Welch LaFleur; one son, Gregory Calvin LaFleur; two brothers, Richard LaFleur, James "Butch" C. LaFleur, Jr.; three sisters, Susan Deiker, Bonnie Flammang, Juanita Plauche; ten grandchildren, Alyssa LaFleur, Jeanne Marie LaFleur, Murphy Michael LaFleur III, Lillian LaFleur, Kyle LaFleur, Victoria Rose LaFleur, Alexis Smith, Bobby Brown, Lexie Jean Saroian, Rodney Aucoin, III; four great-grandchildren, Mallory, Aiden, Karson and Jameson Michael. He was preceded in death by his son, Murphy M. "Spike" LaFleur, Jr.; his parents, James C. LaFleur, Sr. and Juanita Guillory LaFleur; one sister, Catherine LaFleur.
