Mitchell Dewey Mire passed away on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the age of 74. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at St. Edward Catholic Church with Father Korey Lavergne Celebrant. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 1:00 PM until 9:00 PM with a Rosary at 6:30 PM by David Guillory. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Saturday until time of departure for Services. Mitchell is survived by his wife, Carolyn Marie Matte Mire; three sons, Toby Mire and companion Janet, Walter Mire and wife Jessie, Douglas Mire and wife Tamara; two daughters, Wendy Mire and companion Ray, Susan Venable and husband Nolan, Jr.; two brothers, Herman Mire, Fredrick Mire; one sister, Wanda Labbe and husband Rodrick; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey and Ivy Mae Comeaux Mire and one sister, Jeanette Evans.
