Melvin Sonnier, Jr.'s Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial for Melvin Sonnier, Jr., 29, will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial to follow at St. Assumption Cemetery.
Visitation will begin on Friday beginning at 4 PM with an all night vigil until service time Saturday. A rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin Friday evening at 6 PM.
Melvin, of Basile, LA, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2011, at Opelousas General.
He is survived by his parents, Melvin Sonnier, Sr. & Laura Moreau Sonnier of Basile, LA; 3 daughters, Alissa, Alina, & Aliyah R. Sonnier all of Basile, LA; a brother, Marvin Sonnier of Dallas, TX; 2 sisters, Melissa L. Belton of Basile, LA & Stephanie Sonnier of Basile, LA.
