Melanie Clair Brasseaux Janies passed away on Monday, March 27, 2023 at the age of 59. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 3, 2023 at First Baptist Church of Eunice with Reverend Tommy McManus officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Sunday, April 2, 2023 at Quirk & Son. On Monday visitation will be at First Baptist Church of Eunice from 8:00 AM until time of Services. Melanie had a love of and a gift for baking. Her Cakes were well known for bringing in a handsome amount during fund raisers and her church auctions. She was dearly loved by all her knew her. Melanie is survived by her husband, Darin "Kirk" Janies; her dog, Lola; her brother-in-law, Dana Janies and his wife Shondala; two sisters, Mary Labbie and her husband, Glen, Patricia Aguillard and her husband Merrick; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonce and Mable Higginbotham Brasseaux.
