McDonald Joseph Fontenot passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the age of 77. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, July 26, 2024 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in Savoy Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Thursday, July 25, 2024 with a Rosary at 6:00 PM by Father Sam. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Friday until time of departure for Services. "Donald" is survived by his wife, Dorothy Manuel Fontenot; four sons, Eric Fontenot (Lisa), Aaron Fontenot (Nora), Michael Fontenot (Anna), Donald Fontenot (Jennifer); one brother, Steve Fontenot (Maria); one sister, Josephine Kerbise; six grandchildren, Andrew Fontenot, Michael Fontenot, Alex Fontenot, Joseph Fontenot, Faith Frantz, Madison Fontenot; six great-grandchildren, Jaylynne, A.J., Reilly, Ava, Charlee Ann and Audrey. He was preceded in death by his father, Napoleon Fontenot; his mother, Gurtis LeJeune; numerous brothers named Steve; two sisters, Shirley Hebert and Mary Fruge.
