Maxie Jane Saucier Clavier, born August 1, 1940, graced this world with her vivacious spirit and warm heart until her unexpected passing on April 2, 2026. A woman whose outgoing and friendly nature touched countless lives, Maxie’s presence was as comforting as a gentle breeze on a bright summer day—a constant source of joy and light.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Monday, April 6, 2026 at St. Thomas Chapel with Father Jared Suire Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Monday from 8:30 AM until time of departure for Services.
From her earliest days, Maxie embraced life with open arms, weaving a tapestry rich with love, laughter, and treasured memories. She was a proud lifelong member of St. Thomas Chapel, finding solace and strength within its community, a testament to her unwavering faith and commitment.
Maxie’s greatest joys were found in the eyes of her grandchildren, delighting in the simple and profound pleasure of babysitting them. Her home echoed with their laughter, a sacred space of warmth and unconditional love. Surrounded by family, Maxie’s legacy flourishes through her son, David Clavier and his wife Rachel; her daughter, Linda Soileau and her husband Gary; and her beloved grandchildren — Chris Soileau, Katie Cormier and husband Justin, Jesse Clavier, and Samantha Brown and husband Jason. The family circle extends to eleven adored great-grandchildren; Preston, Camryn, Gracie, Brooklyn, Alex, Camille, Austin, Lane, Beau, Charleigh, and Case, as well as her treasured great-grandchild, Jolie Cormier. Each carries a piece of Maxie’s spirit, her laughter, and the kindness that defined her.
Her passion for life was not confined to family alone. Maxie reveled in the melodies of music that filled her soul and cherished her travels with her late husband, Kermit Joseph Clavier. Mountain View, Arkansas, held a special place in their hearts—a favorite destination where memories were etched against the backdrop of rolling hills and gentle streams. Though Kermit is no longer by her side, their shared adventures and love remain forever in the fabric of her story.
Maxie was born to Joseph Saucier and Elta Ardoin Bushnell and shared her early life with her brother, Steven Saucier, both of whom have preceded her in death. The echoes of their family history, the foundation upon which Maxie built her life, live on in her vibrant spirit and the generations she nurtured.
Though her departure was sudden, the footprints Maxie Jane Saucier Clavier left on the hearts of all who knew her are indelible. Her laughter, her generosity, and her boundless love linger in every corner of the lives she touched. She was a beacon of light—outgoing, friendly, and unforgettable.
In the quiet moments, when music plays softly and thoughts wander to places traveled, Maxie’s memory sings on. The world is more luminous for her having been in it, and her legacy will continue to inspire, embrace, and comfort all who remember the remarkable life she led.
