Mary Lou Bellard Bordelon, born June 12, 1936, peacefully passed away on April 16, 2026, at Savoy Care Center at the age of 89. She leaves behind a legacy marked by her vibrant spirit and deep love for family and community.
Mary Lou was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed dancing, a passion she carried with grace and enthusiasm even in her later years. Her fondness for the casino, especially poker machines, was well known among her friends and family, reflecting her lively and spirited nature.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Bordelon, Sr. and two sons, Todd Bordelon and James “Wade” Bordelon. She also bid farewell to her parents, Anis Bellard and Dula Fisher Ashford, as well as her brothers Leverne Bellard and Leroy Bellard, and her sister Diane Ashford.
Mary Lou is survived by her four devoted sons: Earl Bordelon, Jr., along with his wife Bobbie; Dale Bordelon; Kirk Bordelon and his wife Yvonne; and Leon Bordelon. She also leaves behind one brother, Donald Ashford and his wife Pam. Her family further includes fifteen grandchildren and an extensive circle of great and great-great grandchildren who will continue to carry her memory through generations.
The family will hold visitation services at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on April 19, 2026, from 1:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and will continue on April 20, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. The funeral service will follow immediately at 11:00 AM on April 20, 2026, at the same location. Deacon Gary Gaudin will officiate.
Mary Lou’s life was a testament to enduring love, joy, and dedication to family. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, inspiring them with the warmth and vitality she shared throughout her life. She will forever remain in the hearts of her loved ones and community.
