Mary Elaine Ashford Olivier passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the age of 78. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with Pastor Chris Frye officiating. Burial will follow in Ashford Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at Quirk & Son and will resume at 8:00 AM on Thursday until time of Services. Mary was a beloved sister, wife and mother who loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was quick to forgive, slow to anger and loved sharing her Cajun cooking with everyone in a fun and jovial way. Mary was an active member of the church. She loved spending time with her family and friends at the camp cooking wild game and fish her husband Irby would bring home. Mary and Irby had three children, Aaron Olivier and wife Shannon, Becky Biessenberger, Elaine Denise Bernard and husband Victor; eight grandchildren, Brandon Biessenberger, Courtney Biessenberger, Drake Biessenberger, Kristina Graybill, Victor Scott Bernard, II; Caitlyn Estes, Regina Ortego, Christopher Hebert, II; eight great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Tenzli, Jonathan, Everly, Elliotte, Olive, Harper and Tatum. Mary was born into a Cajun family of five siblings, two of which remain, Betty LaFleur and Linda Guillory Bergeron. She married Irby Olivier in 1960, in a time where it was important to help at the family grocery store. They owned and operated a boarding house and rental property. She also assisted Irby with the accounting for Olivier's Refrigeration and Appliances. Mary and Irby decided to establish Olivier's Pawn Shop in 1981 in Eunice, Louisiana, which remained open until their retirement in 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Irby Joseph Olivier; her father, Aswell Ashford; her mother, Helen Veillon Guillory; her step-father, Leroy Guillory; one brother, L.J. Lee; two sisters, Patricia Jacob and Shirley Lee Francois. Vocalists will be Corey Olivier and Weston Weaver.
