Marie Ouida Nell LaHaye Robért passed away on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at the age of 84. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Mamou. Father Louis Richard, Pastor of St. Mary Magdalene in Abbeville, La, a long time friend, will be Celebrant. Sr. Carmelita Latiolais has also been a loyal friend and personal comedian. Entombment will follow in St. Ann Mausoleum. Visitation will be held the same day at St. Ann's from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at which time will be a Rosary, followed by Services. The two greatest gifts "Ouida Nell" has received are her love of family and her appreciation for the many students she has taught. Ouida is survived by her daughter, Marie Robért Hebert and her husband, James; three grandchildren, Alexander, Celeste and Emilie Hebert; her five devoted sisters, Brenda Vidrine, Faye Parrott, Gayle Fontenot, Katy Marcantel and Carla Duhon. She also has three honorary grandchildren who refer to her as "Mere Nell", Logan Clothier, Tucker Duhon and Mason Duhon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Gerard Robért, as well as her parents, Elvin and Thelma Guillory LaHaye. Pallbearers will be Ben Marcantel. Mitchell Parrott, Julien Meyer, Logan Clothier, Tucker Duhon and Mason Duhon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Hospice of Acadiana.
