Luke "L. G." Gordon Carrier, age 80, of Eunice, La., born December, 14, 1928, died Sunday, October 18, 2009, at Acadia St. Landry Nursing Home in Church Point, La.
He is survived by his wife Jane (Cormier) Carrier of Eunice, La.
One Step-Daughter,
Lisa Dupre of Eunice, La.
Two Sons,
Carl Carrier of Lafayette, La.
Reggie Carrier & Gina of New Iberia, La.
One Step-Son-
Conrad Ballance & Michelle of Melbourne, Fla.
Seven grandchildren,
Heather Hebert, Casey Carrier, Nick Ballance, Lucas Carrier, Katie Dupre, Jeremy Ballance, & Krissy Dupre.
Two great-grandchildren,
Aislynn Hebert, & Gracely Hebert.
Preceded in death by:
Parents, Anatole & Nolia Boone Carrier; Grandchildren, Justin Bihm, & Christina Carrier; Sisters, Jane Fruge & Enola Miller; Brothers, Lee & Vallie Carrier.
Mr. Carrier served in the United States Navy. After returning from his tour of duty he joined the City of Eunice Police Department where he served for many years. He also served as Assistant Chief of Police. LG then went on to serve the City of Eunice as City Marshall for 12 years.
He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Municipal Police Association and the Marshall's Association.
Visitation is from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM Tuesday, October 20, 2009 with a rosary @ 7:00 PM. Reopen at 8:00 AM Wed. Funeral service will be at St. Anthony Catholic Church Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at 1:00 PM. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice, La.
