Louis Edmond Smith, Jr. passed away on Wednesday January 22, 2014 at the age of 62. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Basile. Pastor Dwayne Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery. Edmond is survived by his wife, Oneida P. Smith of Basile; his mother, Polly B. Smith of Basile; three daughters, Marie S. Myers and Kim "Booby" Bihm and her husband Jason, and Jodie Fruge, all of Basile; one son, Eddie Smith and his wife Jessica of Basile; two sisters, Mary Lee and her husband Gene of Rayne and Paula Bihm and her husband Jody of Basile; one sister-in-law, Terra Smith of Basile; three brothers, Phillip Smith and his wife Sis, David Smith and his wife Deloris, and Jamie Smith and his wife Pam, all of Basile; and nine grandchildren, Gabriel Myers, Spencer Myers, Mackennon Bihm, Sarah Bihm, Jadon Bihm, Hunter Smith, Pateyn Smith, Cody Fruge, and Connor Fruge. He was preceded in death by his father, Louis E. Smith, Sr.; and one brother, Tim Smith. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday January 24, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Basile. The funeral home will reopen at 9:00 a.m. Saturday for visitation until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
