Lindsey was preceded in death by his parents, Lindsey C. Aucoin and Ena Bertrand Aucoin, one son, Lindsey "Johnny" Aucoin Jr., one sister, Faye Marie Aucoin, one granddaughter Audrey Claire Brown. Lindsey "Red" Aucoin will be remembered for his love of life. He filled his days surrounding himself with friends and family. Red's contagious energy and joie de vivre spirit will be missed by many.

Red was born in Mamou, Louisiana, to Lindsey and Ena Aucoin in 1923. Raised in Eunice, La, Red graduated from Louisiana Tech where he played football and made lifelong friendships.

In 1949, he married the late Mary Jo Stewart. Together they had five children. In 2004, he reconnected with and married his high school sweetheart, Beverly Lewis.

His humble beginnings remained the foundation for how Red built his family civil engineering business "Aucoin and Associates" to become a leader in the highway design and natural gas transmission industry. Red served as president of the Consulting Engineers Council of Louisiana and was active on behalf of the organization in the legislative area.

With his rosary always near, Red was truly a man of faith. He had no mere acquaintances, as everyone he befriended became part of his extended family. His age did not define him; he was genuinely a kid at heart; energetic, fun and always ready to "pass a good time". His exuberance for life was evident on the tennis court, ski slopes, fishing and dance floor. His captivating stories and his sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

We raise our glasses to the example Red set by living life to the fullest with his favorite toast "Here's to health, love and happiness and may we have the time to enjoy it".

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Edmund School in Eunice. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
