Leo loved family time, a trait passed down from his mother. He tried to keep Sundays set aside for family, unless there was rice to cut. He cooked lunch on Sunday for the past 25 years. His grandchildren especially loved his spaghetti. He also looked forward to German Fest every year, which was like a big family gathering of friends.
Being a farmer, Leo was no stranger to hard work, a characteristic he instilled in his children and grandchildren.
Leo is survived by his wife, Jeanette “Jan” Daigle Thevis; one son, Chad Thevis (Jamie); two daughters, Darla Price (Robbie), Gina Thevis Green (Rip); six siblings, Clara Savoy (Mike), Paul Thevis, Rose Hornsby, Andrew Thevis (Connie), Loretta Kibodeaux (Harlan), Arnold Thevis (Kathleen); six grandchildren, DJ Green, Kallyn Clark, Madison Price, Zoe Viator, Wyatt Price, Ian Price; one great-grandson, Tyson Green; brother-in-law, Carrol Daigle (Diane); sister-in-law, Geraldine Boudreaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Agnes Reiners Thevis; one brother, Frank Thevis; two brothers-in-law, Ronald Hornsby, Whitney Boudreaux; two sisters-in-law, Nora Thevis and Veronica Thevis.
