Karen came to .st. Ed’s to teach Creative Writing and was one of the most interesting, humorous and wacky teachers I ever knew. She was the coolest teacher ever. She was so funny, she played right along when we changed her name to “Ms. Gomez”. We never called her Ms. Cormier again.
I was fortunate enough to run into “Gomez”several times as an adult and we were never able to run into each other without stopping and visiting for at least 30 minutes to an hour. What a zest for life she had! What a with sense of humor about life in general.
I can still see her leaning against the podium, a little tiny woman with her little husky voice, flipping her little 70’s hairdo back when something Made her laugh.
She was one of those teachers who made her students feel that we all could be successful and do well in life.
Rest inPeace, “Gomez”.
Mrs. Rougeau was one of my favorite teachers. She always had a huge smile and positive attitude making class enjoyable. She loved her students and went the extra mile to see them succeed . May she rest now that her earthly work is done. May she enter the glory of Heaven and embrace Our Lord Jesus. We will love and miss her until we meet again.
Oh I am so sorry to read this.. I loved Karen she was one of my substitute teacher's when I was at Central Elementary in 7th grade. She was Su h an amazing lady and teacher. She made 7th grade very pleasant for everyone. Sending my deepest sympathy at this time..

We were roommates in Lufkin way before your beautiful life with Winston began. We were poor church mice - but we were rich in friendship and love. We laughed, we cried, we laughed even harder at some of the capers. Your folks accepted me right along with everyone else - and who wouldn't love them both? I adopted Travis about the time you had Lindsey. I loved you then - love you now girlfriend. Crack those jokes in Heaven - just save me a spot - I will see you on the other side. Love you BIG!
Karen was a classmate of mine. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. I pray for her soul and for her family.
To Karen's Family, Karen had the special gift of happiness and always making others feel better. She was a great joker and teaching with her was never dull! It's good that Lindsey is so much like her. Much love and prayers, Sheila Landreneau
