Joseph "Joe" Sanfilippo passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the age of 95. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Sam Fontana Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held at Quirk & Son beginning at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 until time of Services on Thursday with the funeral home remaining open all night. Deacon Gary Gaudin will lead a Rosary at 6:00 PM on Wednesday. "Joe" is survived by one son, Mark Sanfilippo and wife Kathy; two daughters, Alice Sawaf and husband Jamal, Paula Sanfilippo; four grandchildren, Christopher Sanfilippo and wife Jill, Katie Jackson and husband Kris, Sumaya Sawaf and husband Ammar Alkadamani, NaaserAldeen Sawaf and wife Salam Al-Saadi; ten great-grandchildren, Jakob, Ethan, Logan, Anabelle, Natalie, Koen, Nesayba, Yasmeen, Layla and Maryam. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verbie Courville Sanfilippo; his parents, Antonio and Maria LoBianco Sanfilippo; seven brothers, Pietro, Salvatore, Giacomo, Antonio, Samuele, Rosalino and Stefano Sanfilippo; one sister, Caterina Schettino.
