Obituary

Joseph Johnny Kennedy, born on June 13, 1950, passed away at his residence on May 23, 2026, at the age of 75. His departure marks the conclusion of a life well-lived, leaving behind a legacy cherished by all who knew him.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Mouton Kennedy, who stood steadfastly by his side throughout their life together. His family is enriched by four sons: Johnny Mouton, Dillon Kennedy and his wife Tina, Brian Keith Kennedy, and Kevin Dewayne Kennedy and his wife Crystal. He is also the proud father of two daughters, Kelly Ann Kennedy and Tremeke Kennedy Parker, who is married to Charles, Jr. Joseph’s family circle further embraces one brother, Tony Kennedy, and three sisters: Tammy Kennedy Kerry and her husband Keith, Pamela Kennedy Carmons and her husband Ricky, and Nidia Kennedy Bates and her husband Monty. His joy extended to his twenty grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his memory with love and reverence.

He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Brandon Mouton; his parents, John Batiste Kennedy and Enola Senegal Kennedy; two sisters, Nedra Kennedy Ranton and Mary Bell Kennedy; three brothers, Joseph Lonnie Kennedy, Michael Preston Kennedy, and Altonio Kennedy; and grand-daughter, Breanna Kennedy.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Maryland Chapel Christian Methodist Episcopal Church in Branch, Louisiana. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 AM, immediately following visitation, with Reverend Jessie Banks officiating. Burial will take place afterward at Maryland Chapel Cemetery.

Joseph Johnny Kennedy’s presence, guidance, and unwavering commitment to his family and community remain unforgettable. His memory will be treasured by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
