Joseph Clarence "J.C." Fontenot, Sr. passed away on Sunday April 21, 2013 at the age of 86. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday April 23, 2013 at 2 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Basile. Reverend Ken Campbell will officiate. Burial will follow at First Baptist Church Cemetery in Basile. J.C. is survived by his companion, Mae Belle Jenkins of Kinder; two daughters, Barbara F. Blackwell and husband Barry of Baton Rouge, and Sandra Sandoval of Corona, CA; two sons, J.C. Fontenot, Jr. and wife Christine of Eunice, and Bazyle Fonttenaus of Corona, CA; six step sons, Jerry Jenkins, Jack Jenkins, Billy Jenkins, Leonard Jenkins, David Jenkins, and Dustin Jenkins; two sisters, Beatrice Austin of Basile and Lou Kelly of Alexandria; one brother, Matt Fontenot of Kinder; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Adius and Anatasia Fontenot Fontenot; two step sons, Wayne Jenkins and Milburn Jenkins; one step daughter, Georgia Fontenot; one brother, Tanise Fontenot. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Monday April 22, 2013 at 1 PM to 10 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Basile. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM Tuesday for visitation until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
