John B. Bourque, Jr. passed away on Monday, January 30, 2017, at the age of 86. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017, at 1:00 PM. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with burial to follow at Ashford Cemetery in Basile. Fr. Darren Eldridge will officiate. Visitation will begin on Wednesday February 1, 2017 at 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM. A rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM by the Knights of Columbus. John is survived by his son Wade Bourque of Eunice and three daughters, Mary Agnes Odom of Pitkin, La., Juanette McCollum and Bob of Arlington, Tx., Victoria Ann Albarado and James of New Iberia, La.; twenty grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. John was preceded in death by his parents, John B. Bourque Sr. and Agnes Fruge Bourque, his wife, Victoria David Bourque, two sons, John Glenn Bourque and Thomas Joseph Bourque, three sisters, Velma Dupre, Hilda Bourque and Lois Sittig, one daughter, Bobbie Elizabeth Fuselier and two grandchildren. "JB" was an active member of the St. Thomas More Knights of Columbus Council #10428. He was an honorary member for fifty years; also he was a member of the Fr. Martel Assembly #333. He was an usher for many years at St. Thomas More. "JB" and his wife Victoria, made the biscuits for many years after Sunday morning mass. "JB" was a wonderful father and grandfather.
