Obituary

Jody John Andrus passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 5, 2026, at the age of 36. He was known for his vibrant love of life, his dedication to his family, and his passion for simple pleasures such as listening to music, fishing, and camping.

Jody cherished his work at LeDee's Granite Works in Lawtell, La, where he found not only a career but a true source of pride and fulfillment. His commitment to his craft and the satisfaction he derived from his job were among the accomplishments that defined his life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the LeDee's family and staff for their kindness, support, friendship, and compassion shown to Jody throughout his time there. Their care and encouragement meant more to him than words can express and will always be remembered with deep appreciation.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Starleen Gartman Andrus, and their son, Ethan Andrus. Jody also leaves behind his two step-daughters, Allie and Kaylee Decoux, who were important parts of his family. He was the loving son of Mary Elkins Paddie, and dear brother to Damien Elkins and his wife, April. Jody’s family circle extends to four cherished Godchildren: Alana McBride, Jaylen McBride, Zayden Francis, and Allyson Elkins, each of whom held a special place in his heart.

Jody was preceded in death by his father, Terry Andrus, and his step-son, Zachary DeCoux, whose memories he carried with him always.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Chapel.
