Jimmy Young passed away on Saturday April 27, 2013 at the age of 73. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday April 29, 2013 at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas Chapel. Father Wayne Duet will officiate. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM by Deacon Jim Cormier. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Rose "Marie" Young of Eunice; two daughters, Angie Medlin and her husband Sammy and Catherine Bertrand and her husband Josh, both of Eunice; one sister, Joyce Y. Smith of Opelousas; one brother, Johnny Young of Port Barre; four grandchildren, Gabriel, Dylan, Emma, and Carter. He is preceded in death by his parents, Artiste and Lydia Fruge Young; one sister, Jean Bellard; and five brothers, Louis Young, Ferdie Young, Wilfred Young, Wilburn Young, and Dallas Young. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Sunday April 28, 2013 at 10 AM to 10 PM. The funeral home will reopen at 8 AM on Monday for visitation until time of service.
