Janice Marie Taylor Stout passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at the age of 74 . A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 4, 2024 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father John Dugas Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Paul Mausoleum. At the request of family, visitation will be held at Quirk & Son from 11:30 AM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 3, 2024, with a Rosary at 6:00 PM> Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Monday until time of departure for Services. Janice Marie Taylor Stout was born in Eunice, La on August 19, 1950 to Alberta Soileau and John H Taylor. She started school in Mamou, but moved to Eunice. When she was in high school, she played basketball, was on the cheerleading squad and was named "Most Friendly" of her graduating class of 1968. She spent her career in education and her true love was health and physical education. She held teaching positions at St. Ed's, St. Francis, Glendale Elementary, Eunice Jr. High and then Eunice High, the school from which she eventually retired. A life long member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, she held many roles in the church parish. She taught confirmation classes, RCIA, worked in the church office and served as a member of the Parish Council and Altar Society. Janice had a love for sports. Many games of tennis were played at the circle courts in Eunice and she was an EHS tennis coach for the Bobcats. She loved to attend EHS football games where she could always get the crowd going with a long and loud "Goooo Bobcats!" Janice is survived by two sons, Creighton Stout (Megan), Clint Stout; one daughter, Dr. Nancy Robinson (Pete); her mother, Alberta Soileau Fontenot; four brothers, Blair Fontenot (Cindy), Steve Fontenot, John Neal Fontenot (Darnell), Paul Fontenot; one sister, Anzia Moore; seven grandchildren, Caroline, Neal, Luci, George, Andrew, Camille and Owen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Glynn Stout and her father, John H. Taylor.
