James “Carrol” Ardoin passed away on Friday, December 30, 2022 at the age of 84. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Father Corey Lavergne officiating. His Read Obituary

Cah-role, comme on lui appelait en français, était un ami précieux pour moi et ma femme Sarah. Il était membre de notre "Le Cafe Cajun" a LSUE de le commencement en 2013, et il devenait le coeur et l'esprit de cet group pour les années restant. J'ecrit en français pour lui honorer, parce qu'il aimait beaucoup sa langue ancestrale. Que le bon dieu bénisse son memoire et rend confort pour Margaret et tout sa famille. (English: Ca-role, as we pronounced his name in French, was a precious friend for me and my wife Sarah. He was a member of our "Cajun Cafe" at LSUE from its beginning in 2013, and he became the heart and spirit of that group for all the years that followed. I write in French to honor him, because he loved his ancestral language. May God bless his memory and give comfort to Margaret and all his family.
Growing up Mr.Carroll & Ms. Jane were my neighbors. I watched their family grow with every bike ride I made in front of their house which was just about daily & several times a day.
They were outside one summer day trying to decide if they were going to paint the house avocado green or harvest gold. (Popular 70’s colors) They asked for our input as my sister and I rode by. I agreed with Ms. Jane to go with the 70’s gold and my sister agreed with Mr. Carroll to go with avocado green.The tie breaker, my friend riding bikes with us, agreed with Ms. Jane and me to go with the harvest gold. We cheered because we won and they laughed with us. Their first children were a lil younger than us and they laughed too! Sweet neighbors and dedicated hard workers the Ardoins were. Their children were blessed. RIP Mr. Carroll & Ms. Jane
Meet him years ago in what was known as the CCD program. Loved his love of his God, his family and love of life. I was blessed to have known him.
