Irene Courville Lavergne passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church celebrated by Father Matthew Cormier. Concelebrants will be Father Joseph Caraway, Father Korey Lavergne and Father Michael DeBlanc. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home of Eunice with a Rosary at 6:30 PM by Father Matthew Cormier. Visitation will resume at 8:00 AM on Wednesday until time of Services. Irene is survived by one son, Nolton Michael Courville and wife Brenda Verret; one daughter, Jacinta "Lanell" Cormier and husband Michael; four grandchildren, Jason Courville, Jacob Courville, Michael Cormier, Jr., Father Matthew Cormier; nine great-grandchildren, Jay, Savannah, Preston, Jaxson, Ariana, Seth, Keelan, Meredith and Mary Katharine. She was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie Lavergne; her first husband, Nolton P. "Blunc" Courville; her son, Glenn M.Courville; her parents, Christopher and Anna Cormier Lavergne; five brothers, Christopher Lavergne, Amy Lavergne, Agerian Lavergne, Issac Lavergne, William Lavergne; nine sisters, Anastasia Ardoin, Marie Clavier, Amant LeJeune, Rena Manuel, Theresa Aymond, Laurie Steele, Artemise Breaux, Edna Cradeur and Amanda Marie Gaspard
