Hazel Marie Bradley Reeves

Hazel Marie Bradley Reeves, born August 20, 1923, peacefully went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on July 20, 2026, just one month shy of her 103rd birthday. Her long and remarkable life was filled with steadfast faith, enduring love, and a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Hazel’s journey through life was marked by grace and quiet strength. She was the daughter of Claude Bradley and Cora Baker Bradley, both of whom preceded her in death. Hazel grew up surrounded by a large and loving family. She carried the lessons of her upbringing—of resilience, kindness, and devotion—through every chapter of her life.

Hazel was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charlie Reeves, with whom she shared a lifetime of partnership, joy, and faith. They built a home that became the heart of their extended family. Hazel also mourned the loss of her dear daughter, Beverly McCoy, whose memory remained a source of both pride and sorrow. She is further preceded by her siblings Carl Bradley, Clarence Bradley, Claude Ray Bradley, Carrol Bradley, Charles Bradley,  Dorothy Bult, and Nora Fontenot. Each departure was felt deeply, yet Hazel always offered comfort and assurance to those around her, even amidst her own grief.

In her life, Hazel was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. She is survived by her loving sons, Charles Reeves and Robert "Neil" Reeves, and her caring daughter-in-law, Joann. Hazel’s legacy continues through her brother, Clyde Bradley. The light of her presence endures in her nine grandchildren, James Reeves (Monique), Patricia Philmon (Jake), Dawn Reeves, Anissa LeDoux (Randy), Robbie LeDoux, II, Chad LeDoux (Lori), Lauri Leeper (Terry), Eric Reeves (Casey), and Adam Reeves (Nikki); twenty-four great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Each generation was cradled in her prayers, guided by her wisdom, and uplifted by her unwavering encouragement.

Hazel was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Eunice since the 1930's. Hazel’s faith was the cornerstone of her life, and she exemplified quiet devotion in both word and deed. She was an anchoring presence in times of hardship and a joyful spirit in seasons of celebration. Those who knew her will remember her warmth, her gentle humor, and the way she could make anyone feel like family.

As the last surviving member of the Eunice High School class of 1942, Hazel represented a remarkable generation whose legacy of faith, perseverance and community will never be forgotten or equaled.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Hazel's life and honor her memory during the following services: Visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Eunice, 331 Park Avenue, Eunice, LA 70535. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the same location with Reverend Tommy McManus officiating. Hazel will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary, 1400 E. Laurel Ave., Eunice, LA 70535.

As we remember Hazel Bradley Reeves, we give thanks for the many years she graced our lives with love and faith. Her spirit remains alive in each story told, each tradition carried on, and every act of kindness inspired by her gentle example. Though she will be deeply missed, Hazel’s legacy of love, faith, and family will endure, blessing all who follow in her footsteps.
