Gwendolyn Chaumont Fontenot, age 82, passed away on Sunday, December 14, 2025. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 16, 2025 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Keenan Brown Celebrant. Entombment will follow in St. Augustine Mausoleum. "Gwen" was truly the epitome of a "people person", which was evident in her customer service during her past business' ownership. She loved to entertain and was an excellent cook. She loved the outdoors and her flower gardens. She was an awesome wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and leaves behind an example for all to follow. At the request of family, visitation will be held at St. Augustine the same day from noon until 1:30 PM, at which time the Catholic Daughters will lead the Rosary, followed by Services. "Gwen" is survived by two sons, Brent Fontenot (Sandra), Daniel Fontenot; two daughters, Angie Wadington, Carlissa Dilick; one sister, Antoinette Richard (James); ten grandchildren, Adrienne Boal (Matt), Allison Chamberlin (Barry), Alyssa Moore (Ross), Stuart Fontenot, Breanne Wells (Kevin), Grant Wadlington, Trent Wadlington, Anne-Marie Pierret (Tyler), Ian Dilick, Abby Dilick; seven great-grandchildren, Quinn Chamberlin, Collin Chamberlin, Audrey Watkins, Jacques Watkins, Leopold Pierret, Mary-Frances Pierret and Gus Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zenon Patrick Fontenot; her parents, Howard Chaumont and Helen Fontenot Chaumont; one brother, Alton Chaumont.
