Getty Eval's Obituary
Getty Eval passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at the age of 84. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Deacon Gary Gaudin officiating. Burial will follow in St. Paul Cemetery.
At the request of family, visitation will be held at Quirk & Son on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of departure for Services.
Getty was a 1957 graduate of Eunice High School. He served 6 years in the Army National Guard. Getty sold Ford vehicles for over 50 years; he worked for Bordelon Motors (formerly Eunice Motor Company) in Eunice and Opelousas for 30 years and Perry Pitre Ford in Eunice for 27 years until his retirement in 2018.
Getty was an avid golfer and fisherman. He enjoyed traveling, cooking for family and friends, and watching Saints and LSU football. As his sons were growing up and playing sports, he always volunteered and coached and rarely, if ever, missed a game.
Getty is survived by his wife, Kaye Deshotel Eval; two sons, Jon-Erik Eval and fiancé Lauren, Taylor Eval and wife Hannah; four brothers, Jerry Eval, Michael Eval, John Eval, Mark Eval; his mother-in-law, Deola Deshotel and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Wilson Eval; his mother, Cora Courville; two brothers, Donnie Eval, Joey Eval; one sister, Betty Smith; his step-mother Jo Ann Eval and father-in-law, Jimmie Deshotel.
Pallbearers are Jon-Erik Eval, Taylor Eval, Danny Deshotel, Ryan Deshotel, Timmy Huval, and Wesley Chachere. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Eval, John Eval, Scott Deshotel, August Courville, and T.C. Chachere.
