Getice Laffoon was born on December 13, 1934 in Harrisonburg, LA and passed away on May 30, 2012 at the age of 77. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 1 PM at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church. Reverend Mark Johnson and Reverend Mark Foster will officiate. Burial will follow at Harrisonburg Cemetery in Harrisonburg, LA. Getice is survived by one Sister Evelyn Stringer of Eunice, LA and her children Charles Edward Stringer and Wife Kelly of Lafayette, LA and Gwen Stringer Reed of Eunice, LA. One Brother E.C. "Sonny" & Wife Rose Meyers Jr. of Harrisonburg, LA and their children; Andrea Meyers Cruse and husband Stephen of Harrisonburg, LA and John Meyers of Harrisonburg, LA. Two Nieces Janell Coleman and Rhonda Welch; and one Nephew Tommy Waldrop. Pall bearers will be Charles Edward Stringer, Alex Stringer, Brock Reed, Jarrell Shaircliff, John Meyers, Stephen Cruse, Tommy Waldrop, and Ryan Coleman. She is preceded in death by her parents Edward C. and Vivian Slaughter Meyers Sr.; her husband Riley Laffoon; and her brother-in-law Charles "Buddy" Stringer. The family will receive friends on Friday June 1, 2012 at Meyers Bend Pentecostal Church in Harrisonburg, LA from 3 PM to 8 PM for visitation. Visitation will be on Saturday at the church from 10 am until service time. Quirk & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
