Gervis Stanford passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015, age 85.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Rev. Vernon Martindale will officiate. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Mausoleum in Ville Platte.

Gervis is survived by his wife, JoAnn Begnaud Stanford; four sons, Daniel J. Stanford, Keith M. Stanford, Stephan Stanford, and Ben Stanford; one sister, Anna Dale S. Leger; and seven grandchildren.

Gervis was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Stanford and Maria Jagneaux Stanford; four sisters, Laura Stanford, Rita S. Venable, Ella Mae S. Manuel, and Elta S. Miller; and three brothers, Vorice Stanford, Roland Stanford, and Verland Stanford.

Gervis was a loving husband for 60 years. He was a barber for 40 years. He was also an avid gardener and a talented musician.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
