Geraldine Fontenot passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014, at the age of 87.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Father Clinton Sensat will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery.

Geraldine is survived by one son, Karl Fontenot and wife Mona of Baton Rouge; two daughters, Sandra Bult and husband Charles and Stephanie Reed and special friend Donnie Coletta of Eunice; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Marcantel and Arita Fontenot Marcantel; her husband, Weston Fontenot; six sisters, Nellie Clegg, Nora Duplechain, Lilly Ortego, Vertie Katroski, Lema Myers, and Yvonne Marcantel; and six brothers, Hampton, Vernon, Clinton, Viel, Harry Lee, and Jerry John Marcantel.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2014, at 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. by Deacon David Guillory. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday for visitation until the time of service.
