Gerald Joseph Matt, Sr. passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at the age of 67. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at First Baptist Church Chataignier with Pastor Rickey Boone officiating.. It will begin with a breakfast at 9:00 AM followed Services at 10:00 AM. Gerald is survived by his son, Gerald "Papoose" J. Matt, Jr. (Shelly); two daughters, Brandy Rogers (Mark), Bridget Moody (Jonathan); one brother, Sylvester Smith; seven grandchildren, Lauren, Hunter, Marisa, Marcus, Lysie, Payton, Cora; seven great-grandchildren, Liam, Kim, Cambri, Kailum, Kynslee, Raelynn and Kolbee. He was preceded in death by his wife, Prudence LeJeune Matt; his parents Otis Matt and Betty Fruge Smith; his brother, Darrel Matt and his sister, Sabrina Matt.
