Gerald Dean Blanchard was born on June 20, 1940 and passed away on September 25, 2012 at the age of 72. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday September 28, 2012 at 10 AM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Deacon Chuck Ortego will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. Gerald is survived by his wife, Diana S. Blanchard of Arlington, TX; four sons, Scott Blanchard and wife Robin of Duncanville, TX, Dennis Blanchard and wife Michelle of Cedar Hill, TX, Jerry Blanchard of Arlington, TX, and Wayne Blanchard of Kennedy, TX; one daughter, Robbin Blanchard of Venus, TX; one brother Lawrence Blanchard of Columbia, MD; six sisters, Alice Alleman of Marrero, LA; Sister Mary Pious of Lafayette, LA; Jeannie Ballenger of Marrero, LA; Margie Saucier of Chataignier, LA; Joan Ardoin of Lake Charles, LA; and Joanna Lout of Kingwood, TX; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore & Angelle Hebert Blanchard; and one brother, Austin Blanchard. The family will receive friends on Thursday September 27, 2012 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home from 1 PM to 10 PM. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 7 PM. The Funeral Home will reopen at 8 AM on Friday for visitation until service time. Quirk & Son Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
