Ferdie Wilbert Huval, Jr. passed away quietly on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at the Southwest LA Veterans Home in Jennings, La. A Celebration of Life will be held at 8:00 PM on Friday, March 21, 2025 at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel. At the request of family, visitation will be held the same day from 5:00 PM until time of Celebration of Life/Sharing of Memories. Ferdie, was born on February 27, 1948 in Eunice, La, the first of nine children to Ferdie and Dora Belle Arnaud Huval. He served our country in the US Navy. His love for his country was evident. He loved music and dancing and going to music festivals, especially the Jazz Festival in New Orleans. Ferdie is survived by his companion, Marcia Harter; his daughter, Chantel DeBenedetto; seven siblings, Susan Westland (Rodney), Gwen Courville (Augie), Blake Huval (Susan), Tim Huval (Denise), Sheila Huval, Marsha Huval (Kevin Miller), Jessica Huval; grandson, Luc DeBenedetto and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ferdie and Dora Arnaud Huval and one brother, Lydrus "Lolly" Huval.
