Evelyn Vidrine Sandell passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at the age of 79. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, at 1:30 PM. at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Eunice. Burial will follow at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Chataignier. Msgr. Robert Romero will officiate. At the request of the family visitation will begin on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. Evelyn is survived by one son, Michael Bertrand of Murfresboro, TN, three daughters; Melinda Blackwell and Michael of Shreveport, La., Becky Smith and Wayne of Oberlin, La., Susan Majestic and Mike of Talala, Ok., one brother, Johnny Vidrine of Carencro, La., one sister, Bonnie Rodriguez of Garland, Tx., nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, John Vidrine and Bernice Fontenot Vidrine, her husband, Ray Sandell, one brother, Gladney Joseph Vidrine and one sister, Ella Landry. She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church and a member of Prayers and Patches quilting group in Basile. She was a past employee at Oberlin Building Supplies and a volunteer at Brighton Bridge Hospice. She loved sewing, cooking, working in the yard planting a garden and loved raising a few chickens. Her greatest love was being with her grand and great grandchildren.
