She was a graduate of Eunice High School, where she was a basketball player and cheerleader. Later in life, Sue dedicated more than fifteen years of service to South Central Bell, working as a telephone operator and service representative.
On July 17, 1954, Sue married the love of her life, Clifford Carrier. Together, they built their family and made their home in the country, where they shared a life filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories.
Sue’s love of life was evident in her love of cooking and trying new recipes.
Sue’s love of life was evident in her love of cooking and trying new recipes. There was always something cooking on the stove, and one of her most treasured recipes was her mother’s gingerbread recipe, which she continued to make throughout the years.
Sue also cherished the friendships she made throughout her life. She especially enjoyed monthly Bourré card games with her classmates and longtime friends. Shopping and eating out with those same “ole friends” created many memories that will forever be treasured.
The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to all of Sue’s sitters for the dedicated and excellent care they provided to her over the last several years.
Sue will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter, Cynthia Ann Turk and husband, Carl “Doobie” Turk; her sons, David Neil Carrier and wife, Donna, of Iowa, and Bernard Carrier and wife, Abby, of Eunice; her three grandchildren, Ryan, Victoria, and Nicholas; and her great-grandchild, Kinsley Janell Genevieve Smith. She is also survived by her brother, Michael Ray Sanders, and her sister, Joyce Comeaux.
Sue is now reunited with her beloved husband, Clifford Carrier; her son, John Mark Carrier; her parents; and her brother, Lloyd Joseph Sanders.
