Etienne "Benny" Benedict Feucht, Jr.

Etienne "Benny" Benedict Feucht, Jr., known lovingly as Benny, departed this life on August 9, 2026, at The Carpenter House, with the same quiet dignity and grace with which he lived. Born on September 15, 1948, Benny wove a tapestry of love, family, faith, and service that will resonate for generations to come.

Benny was a proud graduate of St. Edmund High School, Class of 1966, where he and Carol were classmates. Benny proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, a distinction he carried with great pride throughout his life. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where his faith remained an important part of who he was. Benny was also honored to be the Godfather of Father William "Billy" Schambough, who held a special place in his heart.

Benny was a hard worker who poured his heart and soul into everything he did. He especially loved working in his yard and took great pride in keeping his lawn pristine. Whether he was cutting the grass, tending to his flowers, or working outdoors, Benny found joy in creating and caring for the things around him. He also loved to BBQ and cook outdoors, especially when surrounded by his family. A die-hard LSU fan, Benny proudly cheered on his Tigers and enjoyed sharing that passion with those he loved.

Throughout his seventy-seven years, Benny was a steadfast presence for those who knew and cherished him. The fullness of his life is best reflected in the family he held so dear, who continue his legacy with warm remembrance and enduring gratitude. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Carol "Kakie" Cooper Feucht, whose devotion and companionship were unwavering. The joys and challenges they shared were tied together in a bond that grew stronger over decades, rooting a family whose branches have flourished.

He is remembered by his children, Jamie Feucht and companion Javon Pemberton, Tricia Menard and husband Neil, Etienne Feucht III and wife Crystal, and Christopher Feucht and companion Paige Pitre, as a guiding hand, a wise teacher, and a supportive father—a man who celebrated their triumphs and stood steady when life seemed uncertain. Benny was deeply proud of his children and took great joy in watching them build lives and families of their own.

As a grandfather to Hayley Clark, Seth Menard, Sydney Menard, Mason Matte, Etienne “Tanner”Feucht IV, Jensyn Feucht, Krissi Feucht, and Matti Feucht, Benny reveled in the laughter and joy of the younger generations. His eyes often sparkled with pride, especially when sharing stories or lending a patient ear. The joyful chaos of family gatherings and the memories made around the grill and outdoors, echoes of his deep affection, will be remembered long after this parting. Benny's love extends still further, nurturing great-grandchildren, Kenzlie Clark and Klover Johnson—symbols of hope and continuity. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

Among his siblings, Benny is survived by brothers, Charles Feucht and his wife Lynette and Robert Feucht and his wife Lisa, as well as his sister Jeanne Comeaux and companion Donnie Sylvester, who together shared the memories of childhood, lessons of life, and the comfort of unconditional kinship.

Benny's passing reunites him with those who went before: his father, Etienne B. Feucht, Sr.; his mother, Velma Theresa Reed Feucht; and his brothers Darryl, Donald, and Blake Feucht. Their memories, dearly treasured, bring comfort to those left behind, certain in the knowledge that family bonds persist beyond earthly farewells.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to honor Benny's memory during visitation at Quirk & Son Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 11th, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary prayed by Father William "Billy" Schambough at 6:00 PM. On Wednesday, August 12th, visitation will continue from 8:00 AM until 1:30 PM at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 2:00 PM, with Father William "Billy" Schambough and Father Hampton Davis concelebrants. Benny will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Etienne Feucht III, Christopher Feucht, Robert Feucht, Randel Cooper, Cory Andrus and Kyle Andrus. Honorary pallbearers are Javon Pemberton, Neil Menard, David Comeaux, Kenneth Cooper, Jim Murphy and Mitch Courville.

Benny was a man formed by love of family, devotion to faith, pride in his country, and the quiet strength of service to others. He poured himself into the people and things he loved—from his family and his faith, to his yard, his flowers, his cooking, and his beloved LSU Tigers. Though so many details of his accomplishments, interests, and the everyday ways he shaped those around him cannot all be captured here, those who had the privilege of knowing him hold these memories close, carrying them forward.
