Elwanda Fontenot passed away on Monday, February 5, 2018, at the age of 77. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2018, at 11:00 AM. at First Pentecostal Church of Melville. Burial will follow at Bayou Rouge Pentecostal Cemetery in Bayou Rouge, La. Brother Samuel Ham will officiate. At the request of the family visitation will begin on Wednesday February 7, 2018 at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM at First Pentecostal Church of Melville. And will reopen on Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 9:00 AM until time of services. Elwanda is survived by her husband, Atley Fontenot of Melville, La, two sons; Jody Paul Fontenot and wife Vickie of Krotz Springs, La., Dale Keith Fontenot of Central, La., three daughters; Paula Delaine Fontenot of Melville, La, Amy Brooke Fontenot and husband Jason of Broussard, La., Sheryl Sue Perry of Beaumont, Tx., three sisters; Joyce Lavergne of Eunice, La., Patsy Davis of Elton, La., Venita Soileau of Bayou Rouge, La., thirteen grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren. Elwanda was preceded in death by her parents, Early Lavergne and Mary Glade Darbonne, one daughter, Julia Glade LeDoux. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
