Ella Mae Ashford passed away on Monday December 2, 2013 at the age of 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday December 5, 2013 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Eunice. Msg. Robert Romero will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashford Cemetery in Basile. Ella is survived by one sister, Elsie Frey of Eunice; six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Emile and Edna Richard Leger; her husband, Goldman Ashford, Sr.; and two sons, Goldman Ashford, Jr. and Larry Thibodeaux. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday December 4, 2013 at 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon Gary Gaudin at 6 p.m. that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday for visitation until time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
