Elison Spain passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018, at the age of 69. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice. His family will carry him back to his final resting place in Tennessee at a later date. Pastor Jamie Tyler will officiate. At the request of the family visitation will begin on Wednesday December 26, 2018 at 8:30 AM until 10:00 PM at Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice and will reopen on Thursday at 8:00 AM until time of services. Elison is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mona Fontenot Spain, one son, Ricky Malone Sr., one daughter, Traci Francis and Gus, one brother, Wilson Spain and wife Patricia, one sister Inez Adkins and husband David, also six brother in laws and six sister in laws, nine grandchildren; Alessia, Racquel, Cadence, Kane, Ricky Jr., Cameron, Rick'lynn, Paisleigh, Cole, also a special paw paw to Kylee, Karlee, Kynlee, Kynadee and their mother Lacey Abshire. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved as his own as well as a mother in law, Helen Fontenot, whom he thought of as his own mother. Elison was preceded in death by his parents, Luther Mitchell Spain and Clara Funderburk Spain, and one sister, Hazel Cotham. Elison was dedicated to his church family, He especially liked working in the nursery where he was lovingly known as the "Baby Whisperer". He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Elison loved caring for his animals and tending to his yard. Elison was a wonderful "babysitter" for his own grandchildren as well as other family member's children. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. Quirk and Son Funeral Home in Eunice is in charge of the arrangements.
