Elaine Marie Boone Fortson entered into eternal life on Friday, June 12, 2020 at the age of 73. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Eunice with Reverend Brent Shoalmire and Pastor Derrick McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Evangeline Memorial Park in Ville Platte. Elaine was the owner of several business, including Something New Dress Shop and Elaine's Bridal Boutique of Eunice, as well as Denim and Lace of Basile. She had a passion to give of her time at the Welcome House Homeless Shelter, loving and playing with the children. She also enjoyed serving on the holidays alongside of Bill and her family feeding the homeless. At the request of family, visitation will be held from 3:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 until time of Services on Thursday, June 18, 2020, with the funeral home remaining open all night. A sharing of memories will occur at 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 17, 2020. Elaine is survived by her companion, Bill Hopper; one son, Melvin Fortson, Jr.; three daughters, Kimberly Loewer and husband Stanley, Stacey Miller and husband Byron, Tonya Fortson; two brothers, LeRoy Boone, Stafford Boone; four sisters, Berlaine Boone, Elta Boone, Doris Olivier, Bertha Matte; thirteen grandchildren, Derrick McBride, Brittney Cini, Lucas Kelly, Drake Kelly, Cortnie Cormier, Kylie Cormier, Brennon Cormier, Francis Fortson III., Chelsie Fortson, Landon Fortson, Taylor Fortson, Tannum Fortson, Treyton Fortson and eighteen great-grandchildren. Her extended family includes Heather Becerre and husband Antonio, Ryan Hopper and wife Brandy, Blake Hopper and wife Pam and eight additional grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Violet Godeaux Boone; two brothers, Etienne "Steve" Boone, Sr., Thomas Boone; one sister, Florence Gaspard; the father of her children, Melvin Fortson, Sr.
