Easton Lavergne passed away on August 22, 2023 at the age of 81. His wishes were to donate his body to science. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Freedom Baptist Church with Reverend Dennis Gotreaux officiating. Easton was a self-employed welder. When he retired, he continued his work ethics as a security guard at Coushatta Casino. Later, he ended his career at Evangeline Downs. Easton is survived by his wife of sixty years, Sandra Lavergne; one daughter, Tonya Lavergne; three brothers, Leland Lavergne and wife Mary, Hilton Lavergne and wife Arlean, Farrel Lavergne and wife Becky; one sister, Beatrice Lestage; three granddaughters, Lauren Girouard and husband Thorn, Morgan Lavergne, Jordan Lavergne as well as several nieces and nephews. He missed seeing his first great-grandson, who is due in November. He was preceded in death by two sons, Philip Lavergne, Chadrick Lavergne; his parents, Houston and Edise Lavergne; one brother, Carroll Lavergne.
