Dorsey Joseph Jacobs, II passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the age of 85. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church with Father Mike Sucharski Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Lawrence Cemetery. At the request of family, visitation will be held at the church the same day from 7:00 AM until time of Services with a Rosary at 9:00 AM. Dorsey is survived by his wife, Rena Citizen Jacobs; two sons, Darcy Jacobs, III (Deborah), Billy Jacobs (Lena); six daughters, Cherry Jacobs, Geneva Wheeler (Tyrone) Penny Slusser (Cory), Joyce Batiste (Robbie), Lorinda Guillory (Allen), Ruthell Chenier (Gary); two sisters, Mary Citizen, Mable Hopkins; twenty-one grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dorsey Joseph Jacobs, III and Rhea Landry Jacobs, as well as numerous brothers and sisters.
