Donald Joseph Estillette passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Calcutta House, leaving behind a legacy defined by love for family and a commitment to those dear to him. Born April 14, 1950, in Eunice, Louisiana, Donald lived a life marked by steadfast devotion and lasting impact. His ashes will be interred in the Southwest Louisiana Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.

Donald proudly serviced his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was highly involved with the VFW, serving as Chaplin for many years. 

He loved fishing and listening to Swamp Pop music.

Throughout his journey, Donald cultivated deep, meaningful bonds, first and foremost with his beloved wife, Geraldine Fruge Estillette. Their shared life was a testimony to partnership and unwavering support. Donald’s commitment to family extended to his children: sons Casey Estillette and his wife Kami, Tracey Estillette and his wife Rebecca, Donnie Estiillette, and Shane Estillette, as well as step-children Keith Carrier (Melanie), Marlow Veillon (Joe) and Steven West (Amelia); his brother, Murphy "Chic" Johnson (Charlene); fifteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Donald’s roots were firmly grounded in the values passed down by his late parents, Wilson Luke Estillette and Ethel Thibodeaux. The memory of his late sisters, Shirley Lanclos, Betty Jane Byers, and Kathy McGee, along with his step-son Shannon Carrier, are cherished as reminders of the family unity that shaped his life.
