Dianne Dowell Helmer, 53 of Eunice, La died on Saturday, April 9, 2011, at her residence in Eunice, La. She was born on Wednesday, September 25, 1957. Dianne graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1975. She was the owner of a Home Health Agency, Nursing Specialties. She donated her body to LSU for cancer research. She was the wife of Donald Glynn Helmer of Eunice, La.

Also surviving are three sons, Michael Edward Reilly, Jr., Richard Glynn Helmer and Peyton Dowell Helmer, all of Eunice; one daughter, Amy Reilly Comeau and her husband Moses of Lafayette , three brothers, Ricky Dowell, Jr and wife Julie of Houston,TX, David Dowell and companion Kim of Eunice and Douglas Dowell and wife Alicia of Highlands Ranch, Co; two sisters, Delinda Dowell Lafleur and husband Leward of Eunice and Donna Dowell Guidry and husband Chuck of Galliano; two grand children, Madison Comeau and Aubrey Claire Helmer; five nieces, Natalie Martin Veillon, Alexis Fuselier, Meghan Dowell Anderson, Addie Dowell and Ashley Parker; four nephews, Nicholas Lafleur, Le Lafleur, Rylan Lester and Roston Lester . She is preceded in death by her parents, Ricky and Norma Dowell; and her maternal grandparents, J. B. and Winnifred Veillon, paternal grandparents, George and Louise Dowell. A Memorial Mass will be held in her honor at 10:00 AM on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at St. Anthony Catholic Church located at 310 W. Vine Street Eunice, La 70535. The eulogy will begin at 9:30 AM before the mass. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Helmer family to help defer medical expenses. Quirk & Son Funeral Home, 121 S. 6th.
