David Charles Gaines passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014, at the age of 54. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Doucet Cemetery in Hathaway. Brother Travis Bertrand officiated.

David is survived by his mother, Helen H. Gaines of Tampa, FL; two daughters, Candi Breaux of Lawtell and Jessica Gaines of Lawtell ; one son, David Breaux of Swords; one brother, Johnny Gaines, Jr. of Kansas and Bruce Carter of FL; and two grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father Johnny Gaines, Sr.; his wife, Patricia Breaux ; and one sister, Dora Elliott; grandson, Mitchell Breaux.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. until 10 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. Sunday for visitation until time of service.
