Cynthia Thibodeaux Chapman's Obituary
Cynthia “Cindy” Thibodeaux Chapman passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her home in Conroe, Texas at the age of 65.
Cindy was born on December 6th, 1957 in Mamou, La. to the late Emile and Janet Thibodeaux of Eunice, La. She graduated from Eunice High in 1975. After high school, she managed Greg's 10 Quick Shop before moving to Texas. She then started a career with HEB followed by Wal-Mart Supercenter where she would eventually retire after serving for more than 20 years.
As a child, she got a rare opportunity to travel to Germany with family to attend her cousin's graduation as well as her uncles Hail and Farewell retirement celebration in 1977. She was known by her family and friends as Toogie, a childhood nickname. Her favorite artist was Elvis Presley and it would be common to hear her singing along to his greatest hits. She enjoyed crocheting blankets and scarfs for her family, crossword puzzles, online scrabble games, and crawfish boils.
Survivors include daughters, Ashley Mellon and husband Quentin of Conroe Tx, Jacqueline Hanke and husband Justin of Rockdale, Tx; brother, Ricky Thibodeaux of Eunice, sisters, Janice Cormier and husband Bradford of Eunice, La, and Sandra Church of Gonzales, La. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Braxton Mellon, Brock Mellon, Major Hanke, Nolan Hanke, and Luke Hanke; nephews, Cal Cormier and wife Kristy, late Casey Cormier, Cody Church and wife Kasey, and Ryan Thibodeaux.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Quirk & Son Funeral Home Chapel from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. A Memorial Service will be held immediately after from 11:00 AM to noon with David Guillory officiating. Her ashes will be placed next to her parents at LaFleur Cemetary following the service.
