Clifford Martin Fontenot passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016, at the age of 92.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Fr. Clinton Sensat will officiate. Entombment will follow at St. Augustine Cemetery in Basile.

Clifford is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Fontenot and husband Thomas Scheibel of St. Francisville and Sandra F. Fruge of Eunice; nine grandchildren, Tammy Collins, Rachel Buzbee, Michelle Fontenot, Cliff Fontenot, Tina Vidrine, Karen Weidman, Cody "Choppy" Fontenot, Cassey Fontenot, and Maranda Fruge Deason; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Clifford was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Richard Fontenot; his parents, Dovic Fontenot and Alida Fruge Fontenot; two sons, Steven Fontenot and Stafford "Choppy" Fontenot; and one grandson, Travis Patrick Fontenot.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home in Eunice. A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. by Deacon David Guillory. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday for visitation until the time of service.
