Christine Delayne Marcantel passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at the age of 56. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. Entombment will be at St. Ann's Mausoleum in Mamou. Christine is survived by her two sisters and their spouses, Judith & Gerald Vallow of Pearland Texas and Yvonne & Benny Broussard of Holmwood; two brothers, Carroll & Judy Marcantel of Moss Bluff and Dwight Marcantel of Lake Charles; and a number of nieces and nephews. Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Hampton and Elta Marcantel. Christine was a joy to all who shared her life. She loved spending time with family and friends. She had and awesome sense of humor and loved watching wrestling and Rocky movies. She taught all who knew her about accepting those with disabilities and how valuable their lives can be. She will be missed. At the request of the family, visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Quirk & Son Funeral Home. A Rosary will be prayed by Deacon David Guillory at 6 p.m. that evening. The funeral home will reopen at 8 a.m. on Thursday for visitation until the time of service. Quirk & Son Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
